Parking at Banff's Boat Cruise

Parking at the Banff Boat Cruise, located at Lake Minnewanka, is available in a large, designated day-use parking lot just a short walk from the lakefront. This paved lot serves visitors heading to the boat cruise, picnic areas, and trailheads, and it can accommodate a high volume of vehicles, including RVs and tour buses. However, due to the lake’s popularity during the summer months, especially between late June and early September, the lot often fills up quickly by mid-morning.

To improve convenience and reduce traffic congestion, Parks Canada and Roam Transit offer a helpful alternative: Roam Transit Route 6, which provides direct service from the Banff townsite to Lake Minnewanka. Boat cruise ticket holders can ride this bus for free on the return trip, making it a great option to avoid parking hassles altogether.

If you're driving, it’s best to arrive early in the day or later in the afternoon to find available space, and there are clear signs directing you to the Lake Minnewanka parking area off Lake Minnewanka Scenic Drive. Keep in mind that parking is free, but a valid Parks Canada entry pass is required to access the area.
